Animal Services

If you are 18 years of age or older, you can adopt a pet from our Pet Adoption and Protection Center.

All pets adopted from Miami-Dade Animal Services undergo basic vetting and include sterilization, vaccinations and microchip.

Spay and neuter surgeries for cats and dogs are available for a low cost.

Low-cost spay or neuter services are offered to Miami-Dade County residents for cats and dogs.

If you find a stray pet, bring it to our shelter to be reunited with its owner.

If you've lost your pet or found someone else's file a report to Miami-Dade Animal Services as soon as possible.

Lost & Found Pets
ASD offers residents low-cost pet care packages which include vaccinations, micro-chips and spay/neuter surgeries.

Low-cost vaccinations are available for your dogs and cats at the Animal Services Pet Adoption and Protection Center.

Animal Outcome Viewer

The viewer displays details of outcomes like adoption, return to owner, or rescue. Pets not in our care or without outcome status won't appear.

License Tag or Microchip Registry

Quickly access crucial details about your pet's identification with our License Tag/Microchip look up service.

Animal Abuser Registry

Registry contains information on persons convicted with felony and misdemeanor animal abuse and cruelty offenses. It is for public access and awareness.

Dangerous Dogs Registry

An owner whose dog has been declared dangerous must register the dog with Animal Services within 14 days of that declaration.

Animal Bite & Potential Rabies Exposure Incidents

Rabies is most frequently transmitted through the bite of a rabid animal. To provide transparency and educate the public, the County has a dashboard to promote awareness of potential rabies exposure incidents due to an animal bite.

Regulations

Animal Cruelty Law

Animal cruelty is defined as depriving an animal of food, water, shelter or veterinary care.

Dog License

License tags are required for all dogs. Tags must be renewed one year from the last date of purchase. It's the law. Click title to read the regulation.

Leash Law

When a dog goes off private property, it must be leashed at all times. Dogs are not permitted to roam free off private property.

Loud Pets

Any animal which causes frequent, habitual or long continued noise which is plainly audible at a distance of 100 feet at any time of the day.

Pets in Parked Cars

Leaving a pet in a car is considered animal cruelty.
