Miami-Dade Animal Services to Participate in Copa ESPN Festival
A family-oriented weekend of soccer, games, activities and pet adoptions
Miami-Dade County Animal Services adoptable dogs and cats will participate in the COPA ESPN event, a weekend festival that will be held at Kendall Soccer Park, October 13-14. In addition to our shelter pets, the event features a soccer tournament, soccer clinics, entertainment, fitness classes for adults (zumba, crossfit, martial arts, etc), interactive games (domino, chess, walk, etc), autograph signings, skills contests, prizes, food and numerous activities for everyone’s enjoyment.
“This is a great family event in our community and an opportunity to showcase some of our wonderful pets for adoption”, said Alex Muñoz, Director of Miami-Dade Animal County Animal Services. “In addition to adopting out many of our dogs and cats, this festival will increase awareness about our mission to encourage people to always think about adopting a homeless pet from the shelter. Make adoption, your only option”, added Mr. Muñoz.
Each year, Animal Services receives over 30,000 pets. The goal of this event, as with any event in which the Department participates, is to increase pet adoptions and community awareness and involvement with the shelter. For more information, visit Animal Services or call 3-1-1.
