Orange Geiger (Cordia sebestena)
Description: A moderate-growing, orange flowering tree with a dense rounded evergreen canopy. Flowers appear throughout the year with small edible white pear-shaped fruit.
Size: Medium (15-20 feet in height).
Location: Plant at least 30 feet from power lines and 16-22 feet from your house. Full sun with well-drained soil.
Salt tolerance: Moderate to high.
Watering: Water during planting and for one year thereafter. May need to water during fruiting if under drought conditions.
Fertilization: Do not fertilize until 6 months after planting. Call 305-248-3311 ext. 228 for fertilizing information specific to your tree.
Pruning: Wait one year to prune. If staked, remove after six months.
