(Miami-Dade County, FL) --

In celebration of Fire Prevention Week, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) will be hosting the 35th Annual Children’s Fire Safety Festival at the MDFR Training Headquarters located in Doral, Florida.

The Children’s Fire Safety Festival will give students from kindergarten through second grade an opportunity to “Plan and Practice Your Escape” through five interactive stations. Participating students will also make their way through a 911 simulation station, learn about fire prevention within the home, kitchen and bathroom safety, as well as lifesaving techniques, including Stop, Drop & Roll.

Other partner agencies will join in the celebration along with the nearly 2,000 students from 19 schools who are expected to attend throughout the week. The week-long, hands-on learning event runs from Monday, Oct. 7 through Friday, Oct. 11.
