Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava delivered her annual State of the County address on January 24, 2024. She summarized the accomplishments achieved during her first three years in office, outlined a vision for equitable economic growth, addressed key public safety progress, and shared how we will continue investing in 2024 in the infrastructure and people power necessary for a thriving future.

2023 Departmental Achievements

These departments have made significant strides and investments in their respective areas to improve services, sustainability, and infrastructure for the residents of Miami-Dade County. 

Mayor Daniella Levine Cava

Daniella Levine Cava was elected Miami-Dade County’s first-ever woman Mayor in November 2020. She enters the Mayor's office following a nearly 40-year career as a relentless advocate for South Florida families in public service and elected leadership.

As Miami-Dade County’s Mayor, she oversees a metropolitan government with more than 31,000 employees serving nearly 3 million residents, managing an annual budget of approximately $12 billion.

A social worker, lawyer, and community activist, she was first elected in 2014, and re-elected in August 2018, to serve as the Miami-Dade County Commissioner representing District 8.
