TITLE

RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A SISTER CITY PROGRAM BETWEEN MIAMI-DADE
COUNTY AND THE PROVINCE OF MENDOZA, ARGENTINA

BODY

WHEREAS, representatives of Miami-Dade County, Florida, and the
Province of Mendoza, Argentina, have met and expressed a desire
to establish a Sister City affiliation between the two
governments and their people; and

WHEREAS, both are similar in population and base their economy
on tourism, and therefore meet the guidelines established in
Resolution No. R-416-95; and

WHEREAS, both Miami-Dade County and Mendoza shall agree to
cooperate in order to expand trade, commerce, and educational
opportunities; and

WHEREAS, this Board wishes to establish an official Sister City
affiliation between Miami-Dade County and the Province of
Mendoza, Argentina,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FLORIDA, that:

Section 1. This Board, on behalf of the citizens of
Miami-Dade County, Florida, hereby establishes a Sister City
affiliation with the government and the citizens of the Province
of Mendoza, Argentina.

Section 2. A committee of private citizens shall be
appointed and governed by the Miami-Dade County Sister Cities
Program to carry out the objectives of fostering enhanced
economic and social relations between the two governments and
their people.
