TITLE RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING LOAN OF TWENTY-FIVE SURPLUS POLICE VEHICLES TO THE CITY OF SANTA CRUZ, BOLIVIA BODY WHEREAS, the City of Santa Cruz, Bolivia desires to borrow twenty-five (25) surplus police vehicles owned by Metropolitan Dade County; and WHEREAS, the vehicles are required to be used in connection with the Summit of the Americas and for other municipal purposes of the City of Santa Cruz; and WHEREAS, the County has determined that these police vehicles are not needed for County purposes; and WHEREAS, the County has determined that these police vehicles are obsolete and their continued use is uneconomical and inefficient; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DADE COUNTY FLORIDA that: Section 1. This Board authorizes the County Manager to lend twenty-five (25) surplus police vehicles to the City of Santa Cruz, Bolivia for a period of two years. The City of Santa Cruz shall be responsible for the cost of transporting the vehicles to their place of destination, shall indemnify and hold the County harmless in connection with the use of the vehicles during the period of the loan, and shall, at its cost and expense, return the vehicles to Metropolitan Dade County in the condition in which they were loaned, reasonable wear and tear excepted. Section 2. The Manager is authorized to execute a contract with the City of Santa Cruz substantially in the terms set forth above and to take any and all other acts which may be required to effectuate the intent of this resolution. |
