Board of County Commissioners 12/7/1999 4J SUBSTITUTE 2 Adopted P
REPORT: Commissioner Moss asked that the subject development be redesigned to improve the aesthetics, specifically to eliminate the huge red and blue structures located throughout the development, which he noted could not be corrected through enhanced landscaping. Mr. Jorge Rodriquez, Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department, responded to Commissioner Moss' concern. He noted staff would work with the manufacturer to enhance the features and to make the project design as aesthetically pleasing as possible. In response to Commissioner Rolle's question regarding the impact of this ordinance on individual homeowners, Mr. Rodriquez explained that pursuant to the Building Code, a $50.00 backflow prevention devices must be purchased by homeowners and installed in all new homes constructed with sprinkler/irrigation systems connected to a city water supply. He advised that existing homes would be exempted from the provisions of this ordinance.
