The Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program offers funding opportunities for small owned and operated businesses to purchase equipment, supplies, advertising/marketing, inventory, building liability insurance, security systems and to make minor renovations.
All businesses must be located in the specified county commission district
Must be a for-profit business
Must not be part of a national chain
A physical address is required
Supporting documentation must be provided (W-9, Municipal Local Business Tax Certificate, any applicable licenses, etc.)
Home-based businesses can apply
Additional criteria may be required, based on commission district. Review the guidelines section of the application.

District 7 is excited to introduce the Mom and Pop Grant, designed to support small businesses within our community. This reimbursement grant aims to provide valuable assistance to small businesses in District 7, helping them grow and thrive.
Eligible small business can receive up to $3,000 per business.
Applications are available in both English and Spanish to ensure accessibility for all. We look forward to empowering local entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth in our district.
Applications must be submitted no later than Feb 28.
Small Business owners in Miami-Dade County’s District 8 can now apply to receive up to $2,500 in grant funding from Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins’ Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program. Applications can be downloaded online or picked up at Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins' District Office starting Feb. 10 through Feb. 21. Completed applications will be accepted from Feb. 24 through Feb. 28 by 4:00 pm.

Small Business owners in Miami-Dade County’s District 9 can now apply to receive up to $5,000 in grant funding from Vice Chairman Kionne L. McGhee’s Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program. Applications can be downloaded online or picked up at the Richmond Heights Business Development Hub, located at the Larcenia J. Ballard Plaza, 14508 Lincoln Blvd., Suite 210, Miami, FL 33176, starting from Tuesday, Feb. 18 through Friday, Feb. 28, 2025.
Completed applications will be accepted from Monday, March 3 through Friday, March 7, 2025, by 4 p.m. at the Richmond Heights Business Development Hub.
Small Business owners in Miami-Dade County’s District 12 can apply to receive up to $2,500 in grant funding from Commissioner Juan Carlos “JC” Bermudez’s Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program. Applications are available online and at Commissioner Juan Carlos “JC” Bermudez District Office Monday, Feb. 10 through Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025.
A mandatory meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the Fire Fighters Memorial Building, located at 8000 NW 21st Street, Doral, FL 33122.
Completed applications must be hand-delivered to Commissioner Juan Carlos “JC” Bermudez District Office, 8333 NW 53rd St., Suite 102, Doral, FL 33166, from Thursday, Feb. 27 through Friday, March 7, 2025, between 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.
Small Business owners in Miami-Dade County’s District 13 can now apply to receive up to $2,500 in grant funding from Senator René García’s Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program. Applications can be downloaded online or picked up at the District 13 Office through Monday, Feb. 24, 2025.
Completed applications will be accepted from Monday, Feb. 24 through Friday, Feb. 28, by 4 p.m. at the District 13 Office, 1490 West 68th St., Suite 101, Hialeah, FL 33014.
