As the County strives to attract and retain the best and brightest in our community, our goal is to reach high school, college and graduate students as they consider their career goals and potential employers. Through Miami-Dade County’s Internship Program, We Connect, We Thrive, our goal is to provide students the opportunity to learn about the County as a premier organization and explore future careers in public service, gain valuable work experience, while experiencing firsthand, the impact Miami-Dade County has on our residents and the community at large.

Students will work alongside seasoned County employees at various levels within the organization to learn about departmental operations, foster intellectual curiosity and grow professionally.

Paid opportunities are advertised on the County's Careers website along with other employment opportunities. You can explore and apply to current opportunities online. The application period for summer is March 1-31. Summer internships will run for 12-15 weeks, beginning approximately on May 20.

Mayor's Office Internship Opportunities

The Mayor's Office intern will observe, learn and work directly with senior staff in Mayor Daniella Levine Cava's office by performing a variety of duties and working on projects. The intern will have the opportunity to research, hone writing skills, strengthen communication skills and improve networking. This is a great internship for students in law, government, political science, public affairs or administration who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of Miami-Dade County residents. Students must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and be available to work in-person for up to 25 hours a week.
