Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez's launches the Mayoral "Business Roundtable"
Initiative aimed at engaging business leaders in identifying strategies that positively impact economic development in Miami-Dade County
(MIAMI, March 17, 2014) – Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez today joined a group of distinguished business leaders from across the County to launch the Mayoral Business Roundtable, an initiative aimed at identifying strategies that would have a positive impact on the economic development of the County.
“The success of the business community is crucial to the continued economic growth of our community” said Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez. “By creating a business-friendly environment and working together with participants of my Business Roundtable we can identify initiatives that will propel Miami-Dade County forward in local business development as well as global trade and commerce.”
The Business Roundtable will meet periodically with Mayor Gimenez to review the Mayor’s vision of positioning Miami-Dade County as a premiere global community as well as to discuss issues of importance to Miami-Dade such as:
- Obtaining private sector input for enhancing and streamlining government processes and procedures
- Creating the environment to help strengthen Miami's position as a leading center for entrepreneurship and innovation
- Developing public-private-partnerships to make better use of the County’s assets and improve the quality of services to residents
- Improving mobility options for residents and businesses in order to facilitate commerce across all industries
In addition to discussing these initiatives, Mayor Gimenez will engage the group in a frank discussion on issues that affect our community in order to better address the actions necessary to deal with those issues. See attached for a list of the current participants of the Business Roundtable.
