(Miami-Dade County, FL) --
Dogs and their owners will enjoy Pet Supermarket and Miami-Dade Parks' Dog Fest on Saturday, April 9 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Amelia Earhart Bark Park, 401 East 65 Street, in Hialeah, FL.

The free event will feature lots of great activities for dogs and their owners, as well as food vendors and informational and pet supply booths.  Activities include a contest for the best dressed dog; a dog agility contest; obedience training demonstrations by Canine Counselors; photo opportunities with your dog; and lots of free gifts and raffle prizes by Pet Supermarket, the official Premier Partner of Miami-Dade Dog Parks.    Contest winners will also receive great prizes such as a $100 gift card and gift basket from Pet Supermarket.

The Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade will also be on-site to help raise funds for future enhancements of County Dog Parks.  Their booth will be selling commemorative 13" x 13" tiles in the shape of a Paw Print.  Patrons can personalize the tile with either a message or with their dog's name and then place in their home garden.  Cost to purchase a tile is $100 and can be pre-purchased through the Parkstore at http://parkstore.miamidade.gov for pick-up at the event.  Tiles sold on-site will be available for pick-up within four weeks at the Park office.

Pet Supermarket became the Premier Partner of Miami-Dade Dog Parks in December of 2010 and will be hosting several events at all five County dog parks.  Their partnership will help enhance and maintain Miami-Dade Dog Parks.  The next event is scheduled for May 14 at East Greynolds Park.
Amelia Earhart Dog Park is located at 401 East 65 Street and is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to sunset. The five-acre Bark Park is fenced and offers a separate section for smaller dogs.  Amenities include paved walkways, benches, shade trees, waste dispenser stations, and specially designed drinking and spray fountains for dogs and their owners.  Admission to the event is free.
