The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department is proud to offer some of the lowest water and sewer rates across the country and is consistently looking for ways to provide quality service to our customers. The current rate structure encourages water conservation and remains low for most single and multi-family residences customers who have a low-to-average consumption.
Monthly charges include meter charge and water usage.

5/8" - plus 2,244 gallons (3 ccf) - most common residential meter size
$4.89 - 2024-25 rates, effective Oct. 1, 2024
Monthly water usage - one ccf (100 cubic feet) equals 748 gallons
4 to 17ccf
$3.9609 per ccf - 2024-25 rates, effective Oct. 1, 2024
18 ccf and over
$9.5809 per ccf - 2024-25 rates, effective Oct. 1, 2024
A South Florida Water Management District Water Restriction Surcharge (SFWMD) is imposed for customers using 18 ccf (hundred cubic feet) and over. This surcharge increases based of the phase of water restrictions imposed by SFWMD on the department to achieve the level of reduced water demands.
Monthly charges include base facility charge and wastewater usage.
$7.8911 per ccf - 2024-25 rates, effective Oct. 1, 2024
The department has implemented an inclining rate structure to encourage year-round conservation. The unit price increases based on the water consumption. In other words, the more you use, the more your water and/or wastewater service will cost per gallon.
