Prevention & Intervention
D.A.R.E Program
Millions of school children around the world benefit from D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), the highly acclaimed program that gives kids the skills they need to avoid involvement in drugs, gangs and violence. There are several components to local D.A.R.E. curriculum, including the "core curriculum" for 5th and 6th grades, visitation for kindergarten through 4th grade, a middle school program, a senior high curriculum and a parenting component.

Miami-Dade County's Department of Human Services provides shelters, transitional housing facilities and programs that help the victims of domestic violence and their dependents.
