MIAMI – The Miami-Dade County Commission for Women (CFW) invites the community to honor ten outstanding women veterans from Miami-Dade County during a special event in celebration of Women’s History Month. The event will recognize the significant contributions and leadership of these veterans, highlighting their lasting impact on both the nation and the local community. The ceremony will take place at noon on Wednesday, March 19 in the lobby of the Stephen P. Clark Government Center.
Held in partnership with the South Dade Women Veterans Alliance, the event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, guest speakers, and a powerful visual display, showcasing the service and sacrifice of these remarkable women veterans. The 2025 honorees are:

- Evelyn Gaines Harris
- Valencia Knox-Davis
- Carolyn Nelson-Goedert
- Duilia Mora Turner
- Julie Robison
- Katiuska Pabon-Beauchamp
- Margaret Ramirez
- Thayra “Tye” Hausheer
- Clara L. Garcia
This recognition event will also provide a valuable opportunity for members of the media to learn more about the contributions of women veterans and the Commission for Women’s ongoing efforts to support women within the community.
All meetings of the Commission for Women are open to the public, and residents are encouraged to attend and learn more about the work of the board. There will be an opportunity for attendees to comment at the beginning of the meeting, and the board is especially interested in hearing about issues impacting women in Miami-Dade County.
