Miami-Dade County Animal Services reaffirms commitment to save the lives of shelter pets by joining No Kill Nation’s “Just One Day” June 11 Campaign
(MIAMI, June 5, 2014) – Miami-Dade County Animal Services (Animal Services) is, once again, participating in No Kill Nation’s Just One Day, June 11, nationwide effort to empty the shelters by saving the lives of the shelter pets. As a participating shelter, Animal Services is asking the community to join us in this effort on June 11, 2015 by taking advantage of waived adoption fees and waived rescue fees for all pets over four months old at the shelter located at 7401 NW 74th Street, Miami, FL and at all off-site adoption events.
Adopters will save on the cost of the adoption fee, but more importantly, they will be saving the life of a shelter cat or dog. Pet adoptions include spaying/neutering, age appropriate vaccinations and microchip.
“We are counting on our community to adopt a pet on June 11 and every day after that,” said Alex Muñoz, Director of Animal Services. “Our combined save rate for dogs and cats is currently at 88 percent which brings our shelter closer than ever to realizing the 90 percent save rate that has become the benchmark of no kill success.”
