(MIAMI, June 9, 2015) – Miami-Dade County Animal Services and the Miami Marlins Ayudan Team, known as “The Voice”, will add cheers, woofs and meows during the pre-game “Marlins Ayudan Adopt-O-Mania” and Bark at the Park pet adoption and spay/neuter event taking place on Saturday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Miami Marlins Park, 501 Marlins Way (NW 16th Avenue and NW 6th Street) Miami, FL 33125.

The event features lots of pet "recruits" bringing their A-game so adopters can take home the win—a loving new furry companion. Adoption fees will be 50 percent off for dogs over four months old and all cats and kittens. Anyone adopting a pet at the event will receive tickets for two people and one dog for that day’s, June13, Marlins vs Rockies game, courtesy of the Miami Marlins. All pets adopted are spayed or neutered, given age appropriate routine vaccinations, dewormed and microchipped.

“This event is a great opportunity for Miami Marlins fans — and all the pet lovers in our community to adopt a dog or cat and share our commitment to saving the lives of shelter pets” said Alex Muñoz,” Director of Miami-Dade County Animal Services.

The Humane Society of Greater Miami and The Cat Network will also join Animal Services to offer reduced pet adoptions at the event.

In addition to low cost pet adoptions, Animal Services is offering free spay/neuter surgeries for dogs under 40 lbs. To schedule an appointment for dogs, call 3-1-1. The Cat Network is offering spay/neuter surgeries for cats. Spay/Neuter surgeries are by appointment only.*. For cat appointments, email The Cat Network or call 305-233-9958.

*Requirements; No Exceptions: Service available for Miami-Dade County residents only. A maximum of four (4) appointments per residential address. Proof of current rabies vaccination must be provided for all dogs and cats. Dogs and cats without a current rabies vaccine will be vaccinated at the time of surgery (only dogs up to 40 pounds are eligible). A voucher program is available for dogs 50 pounds and over. Veterinarians may decline surgery of any pet due to health reasons.

Dog and cat booster vaccines will also be offered free of charge for existing family pets.
