Local 4-H Youth to hold family festival for Redlands Christian Migrant Association
(MIAMI, March 16, 2015) – Members of the 4-H District XIII Council will hold a festival for the families of the Redlands Christian Migrant Association (RCMA) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 21. The Council is comprised of students ages 8-18 from Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties.
The family festival will feature games, crafts, music, face painting, raffles and food. Activities will also be provided by UF/IFAS Miami-Dade County Cooperative Extension, Nature’s Postings, Miami-Dade Police Department, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Florida Forest Service. Council members will also lead the RCMA children in planting a butterfly garden with additional monies raised, and under the guidance of the Cooperative Extension Water Conservation Program.
The festival will take place at the RCMA Center located at 16085 SW 293 Drive, Homestead. It is partly funded by a grant awarded to the Council by the 4-H Community Pride Grant Committee.
