Chairman Gilbert will present $100,000 check to youth STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) organization on April 6
MIAMI-DADE – Chairman Oliver G. Gilbert, III will present a check in the amount of $100,000 at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 6 to S.E.E.K. (Seeking Education Empowers Knowledge) Foundation, Inc. at Bunche Park West Recreation, 15600 W. Bunche Park Dr., Opa-locka, FL 33054.
S.E.E.K. Foundation, Inc. provides equitable access to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) education to children and families of color and low-economic status, preparing students now to compete in the advancing STEAM job markets. This funding, advocated by Chairman Gilbert through the Miami-Dade Fiscal Year (FY) 2022-23 budget, will allow S.E.E.K. Foundation, Inc. to expand their STEAMtastic Summer Program. Youth who participate in the program foster knowledge, interest, and competency in STEAM industries through hands-on projects to include video game design, virtual reality and immersive technology exploration, and electric mobility development.
