Chairman Gilbert furthers XerciseDaily initiative with inaugural “The Chairman’s Health Walk” to Bayfront Park on May 25

MIAMI-DADE – Chairman Oliver G. Gilbert, III will host his inaugural “The Chairman’s Health Walk” that will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 25 at Stephen P. Clark Government Center, 111 NW 1st St., Miami, FL 33128, and arrive at Bayfront Park, 301 N. Biscayne Blvd., Miami, FL 33132.

The Chairman’s Health Walk continues the wellness initiative, XerciseDaily, launched by Chairman Gilbert in January 2023 to encourage everyone to dedicate at least 30 minutes per day to decisions that lead to a healthy lifestyle.

Chairman Gilbert will lead the Board of County Commissioners in a brisk walk from Government Center to Bayfront Park. Remarks from the Chairman will commence the walk from the first-floor lobby and proceed east toward NE 1st St. Along the route, a stop will be made for a brief exercise engagement session led by Tony Thomas Sports at NE 2nd Ave. and East Flagler St. The walk will continue toward Biscayne Blvd. for an inaugural photo at Bayfront Park and conclude upon return to Government Center.

Participants of The Chairman’s Health Walk include the nine offices as part of the Board of County Commissioners family. Partners include Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces (PROS), Division of Emergency Management (DEM), Miami-Dade Police Department Bike Response Team, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR), and Employee Support Services-Health and Wellness.
