Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with the 16th Annual Hispanic Art Expressions
MIAMI, FL – Today marks the national start of Hispanic Heritage Month, and the Miami-Dade County Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board, in collaboration with Miami Urban Contemporary Experience, will celebrate with its 16th annual Hispanic Art Expressions Exhibit, which will run from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31 in the Stephen P. Clark Center lobby, 111 NW 1st St.
The exhibit, curated by Bart Mervil and dubbed “Muchos Somos” (We are many), will feature such local artists and galleries as Angel Valentin, Celia Cruz Foundation, Frank's Ugly Art, Sid Daniels and Tatiana Hernandez.
Hispanic Heritage Month is nationally observed from September 15 to October 15. September 15 is significant because it is the anniversary of independence for several Latin American countries, including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and September 18, respectively.
