Commissioner Monestime to host ribbon cutting for Rocky Creek Park
This event has been canceled until further notice.
MIAMI-DADE – Commissioner Jean Monestime is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, August 17, at 9 a.m. for Rocky Creek Park, 3305 NW 48th Terrace, Miami, FL 33142. Commissioner Monestime will be joined by Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department Director Maria I. Nardi at the ceremony.
Recently, Commissioner Monestime, along with the Miami-Dade Police Department Northside District’s Neighborhood Resource Unit (NRU), participated in the park’s beautification project, where volunteers assisted with tasks, such as landscaping, cleaning, and painting. Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department donated 64 pollinator plants to the project, which they planted throughout the park.
“The Miami-Dade Police Department helped to organize this beautification project, so the children in the community can utilize these amenities and have fun safely outdoors. These officers were able to interact with the children and become their friends, and that’s great. I was excited to see so many police officers, staff, and community members willing to help spruce up the park and make a difference in this neighborhood. I’m excited to see the end result and for our children to enjoy the park once again,” said Commissioner Monestime.
The park is currently undergoing additional renovations. It will include new playground equipment, a new drinking water fountain, irrigation, a perimeter fence, and landscaping. These renovations are expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
