Commissioner Keon Hardemon to host rededication of Father Gerard Jean-Juste state road co-designation
MIAMI-DADE – Commissioner Keon Hardemon is hosting a rededication of a state road co-designation, which honors the life and legacy of the late Father Gerard Jean-Juste. The rededication will take place on Wednesday, May 22, at 10 a.m., at 166 NW 54th St., Miami, FL 33127 (near Chef Creole Seasoned Kitchen).
In 2010, the co-designation was approved, the street markers were placed in the right-of-way, and shortly after, the signs were removed. Commissioner Hardemon understands the importance of ensuring the legacy of Father Jean-Juste lives on and is prominently displayed within the Little Haiti community.
Father Jean-Juste was a beloved figure known for his unwavering dedication to social justice and community empowerment. He served as a Haitian Roman Catholic priest and prominent activist in the community and was known for his tireless advocacy on behalf of the people of Haiti.
