Commissioner Eileen Higgins to speak at the United for Infrastructure Summit 2022 in Washington, D.C.
MIAMI-DADE – Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgins, District 5, will join White House Senior Advisor and Infrastructure Coordinator to the President Mitch Landrieu, and civic leaders, business executives, and elected officials from across the nation, at the United for Infrastructure 2022 Summit in Washington, D.C. on Monday, May 16, 2022. Speaking on the panel “Leveraging the BIL to Build More Equitable Communities,” Commissioner Higgins will highlight how Miami-Dade County will leverage President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) to address longstanding inequities in infrastructure investment and accessibility. The annual event features business and labor leaders, as well as the state and local government officials that build the infrastructure that keeps America safe, healthy, and economically prosperous.
“With the approval of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the message is clear. America’s infrastructure needs investment, both to repair what we have and build what we need,” said Commissioner Higgins. “I’m excited to attend the United for Infrastructure 2022 Summit to highlight how Miami-Dade County will use these investments to build the critical infrastructure we need to remain competitive, become more resilient, improve public transit, and connect more people to economic opportunities.”
