Commissioner Raquel Regalado Launches New Sensory Support Van Experience with Loud and Live Foundation at Coconut Grove Arts Festival
MIAMI-DADE – Together with Loud and Live Foundation, Miami-Dade Commissioner Raquel Regalado is proud to introduce The S3: Sensory Support Space, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at providing sensory respite for neurodivergent individuals. The specialized van will welcome residents and visitors with autism to the 60-year-old arts festival for the first time, providing a safe space for individuals to relax and process the sights and sounds of the event.
The S3 mobile station features multi-colored LED lighting, a diverse selection of illustrative and sensory activities, an augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) device, comfortable seating, and more, ensuring a fully immersive and accommodating experience.
The S3: Sensory Support Space will be introduced at 15 large-scale outdoor events throughout 2024, reaching over 500,000 attendees, including events such as the SoFlo Boat Show, House of Horror Haunted Carnival, Country Bay Music Festival, Christmas Wonderland, Bayfront NYE, and Wodapalooza.
