Business owners in District 12 can apply for Commissioner Bermudez’s 2024 Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program
MIAMI-DADE – Commissioner Juan Carlos Bermudez is inviting small business owners in District 12 to apply to the Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program.
Applications can be obtained from the District 12 office, 8345 NW 12th St., Miami, FL 33126, or on the County website, starting Feb. 12 through Feb. 28, 2024. Business owners applying for funding must own a small for-profit business that has been in operation for at least one year. All businesses must be located within Miami-Dade County’s District 12.
Grant funding can assist with the purchase of business-related expenses, such as supplies, equipment, liability insurance, and advertising. It can also be used to fund professional services, such as accounting, seminars, and events. Each business can receive up to $2,500 in funding through this program.
There will be a mandatory informational meeting, scheduled for Feb. 28, at 6 p.m. at the Firefighters Memorial Building, 8000 NW 21st St., Miami, FL 33122.
During the meeting, the application process and eligibility requirements will be reviewed. Attending the meeting does not guarantee funding, and it is recommended that applicants do not complete the application before attending the meeting.
Completed applications can be hand-delivered to the District 12 office from Feb. 29 through March. 7, between 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. No late applications will be accepted.
The Mom and Pop Small Business Grant Program was created to provide financial and technical assistance to qualified for-profit small businesses that are approved for funding. Mom and Pop Grants are administered in collaboration with respective Miami-Dade County Commissioners’ offices.
