(MIAMI, Dec. 10, 2020) – Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) will hold a swearing-in ceremony for Class 144 on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020 at 9 a.m. The ceremony will take place at the MDFR Training Headquarters located at 9300 NW 41 Street in Doral, Florida, and will be streamed live for guests to watch remotely.
Given the current COVID-19 pandemic, MDFR took extraordinary safety measures, including mask-wearing and social distancing, to help ensure continuous professional career development for the graduating recruits. All this was done with consideration for the safety and wellbeing of the fire recruits and instructors, without compromising our mission of developing probationary firefighters that are day one ready to fulfill the mission of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
Following rigorous and skilled training, a total of 37 firefighters from Class 144 will swear-in to officially receive their badges and become full-time Miami-Dade Fire Rescue firefighters.
“During the pandemic, having additional personnel is vital to our continued mission. These new firefighters will be stationed throughout Miami-Dade County in order to continue to serve our communities' needs on a daily basis,” said MDFR Fire Chief Alan R. Cominsky.
During the swearing-in ceremony, uniformed recruits from Class 144 will receive their certificates and exchange a salute with MDFR Fire Chief Alan R. Cominsky.
Friday’s ceremony will be live-streamed so friends and family of the recruits can watch live. Given this health emergency, attendance to the ceremony will be limited to just the recruits and necessary fire personnel.
