Dear Residents,
Thank you for subscribing to our District 11 e-Newsletter!
Here we are in the month of November already. It's hard to believe daylight savings time ended and the holidays are right around the corner. Thanksgiving is celebrated this year on November 28th and we all have something to be thankful for. November is also National Diabetes Month; a time when communities across the country team up to bring attention to diabetes and its impact on millions of Americans. It is also National Epilepsy Awareness Month and an opportunity to educate the public about epilepsy and seizures.
As always, I look forward to hearing from you, the residents of District 11 and community at large. Your valuable input and feedback helps me better represent you through the governmental process. Together, we can continue to work on improving and enhancing our community and our quality of life.
Should you have any comments, ideas, or concerns, scroll down to the end of this newsletter for my office contact information. |

Breakfast in the Park
Contemporary artist Petah Coyne will be our featured speaker this year on Sunday, December 8 from 9:30 a.m. - noon. Known for her elaborately detailed assemblages that hang from ceilings and erupt from the floor, Coyne uses molten wax, silk flowers, sumptuous fabric, and pristine taxidermy to create works that evoke gothic narratives and the excess of the Rococo. RSVP online.

Veteran Recognition
On this Veterans Day, we recognize all veterans for their patriotic duty to protect our liberty and by serving our country. Many of them paid the ultimate sacrifice and died on duty to maintain the freedoms we enjoy every day. It is our duty to honor & thank them for their heroism and service. I am very honored and proud of the two Veterans who work in my office, Mr. Arcadio Martell & Mr. Marcos Amador and want to thank them and recognize them for their service to our country.

Happy Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a very important holiday, especially in the busy lives of Americans. It is a time to kick back and relax, watch a football game or go to a movie, and enjoy a huge feast. It's also time for us to give thanks for the things that have been bestowed upon us and upon this great nation. There is no nation in the world that has more to be thankful for than us.

Epilepsy Awareness Month
This November, during National Epilepsy Awareness Month, Epilepsy Florida is working to increase awareness about epilepsy to help support the thousands of Floridians and their families affected by it. Epilepsy is a diagnosis given when a person experiences two or more seizures that cannot be attributed to another cause. Seizures are sudden surges of abnormal electrical activity in the brain that affect how a person feels or acts for a short period of time and are broken into different types based on where the electrical surge begins in the brain.

Census 2020
Every 10 years, the U.S. Census Bureau conducts a census to determine the number of people living in the United States. The census provides the basis that determines how many Congressional seats are assigned to represent an area based on the number of residents. The federal government distributes billions of dollars in federal funding to support services and infrastructure in communities across the country based on the census. We encourage every resident to participate in the census to ensure proper representation in Congress and a fair share of federal funds for schools, hospitals, roads, public works and other vital programs here in District 11.
