Alert - Exemption Filing Deadline Approaching

Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser, Pedro J. Garcia, would like to remind property owners that Monday, March 2nd is the deadline to apply for homestead exemption. Since the legally mandated deadline falls on a Sunday, property owners will have until Monday, March 2nd to apply.

In an effort to help, the Office of the Property Appraiser has been hosting multiple Outreach Events around the County throughout January and February. Mr. Garcia would like to invite property owners to one of our final outreach events, before the end of the exemption filing period.

“I have vowed to make my Office more accessible to the citizens of Miami-Dade County.  We are available to help property owners with their applications or with any questions they may have regarding their status,” said Mr. Garcia.

Our Office is hosting an after-hours Town Hall Meeting this Thursday, February 26th from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the North Dade Regional Library, 2455 NW 183rd Street, Miami Gardens, FL 33056.

Additionally, this Saturday, February 28th we will be at the following locations from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M.

As a reminder, you can apply for Homestead Exemption online at http://www.miamidade.gov/pa or visit us Monday through Friday, 8 A.M. to 5 P.M., at our Downtown Miami or South Dade Government offices.
