Property Appraiser Pedro J. Garcia has Released Miami-Dade County’s 2023 June 1st Estimates of Taxable Values
Miami-Dade County, FL – The Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser Pedro J. Garcia has released the 2023 June 1st Estimates of Taxable Values to the taxing authorities/cities of Miami-Dade County. The countywide estimated taxable value for 2023 is $424.2 billion, an increase of over $46 billion or 12.3% when compared to 2022.
The Miami-Dade County tax roll has seen double digit growth for the second consecutive year. This year’s $46 billion increase is $7 billion greater than last year’s record increase of $39 billion.
“The steep increase in values, driven by a heated real estate market, will force many property owners to pay higher property taxes, which many cannot afford. I urge the county, cities and the school board to consider a 3% reduction in their respective millage rates to help our residents cope with the increased cost of home ownership,” said Property Appraiser Garcia.
The June 1st Estimates of Taxable Values are only estimates, which are subject to change. The official certification date for the 2023 assessment roll is on July 1.
