• Gratigny Plateau Park is located in District 2, represented by Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jean Monestime.

This park is an example of an extreme park makeover, made possible through a unique public-private sector partnership, and the strong support of Miami-Dade Commissioner for District 2 Jean Monestime. Four parcels have been transformed into a lush park that sprawls across four neighborhood blocks and boasts winding walking paths, outdoor-gym fitness stations, a toddler playground, park benches, and a butterfly garden providing area residents fun opportunities for recreation.

The park’s construction was conceived and spearheaded by Local 10 News (WPLG-TV). Design was donated by EDSA, with construction led by Miller Construction Company. Thanks to efforts by Miami-Dade County District 2 Commissioner Jean Monestime, $250,000 in funding from the Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond Program, Community Development Block Grant and Parks Impact Fees were allocated to Gratigny Plateau Park to help expedite construction.   

Through the non-profit Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade, in partnership with Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces, a host of corporate donors and local businesses also provided funding, in-kind labor and materials to make the project possible, including Miller Construction Company, McLaughlin Engineering, J.D.
