Includes the addition of two programming wings with space for meetings, additional administration offices, a fitness area, a game room and storage room.
Former Miami-Dade Commissioner Dennis Moss, in whose district Goulds Park lies, spear-headed the effort to build the gym as part of the community's recovery after Hurricane Andrew. The project was funded in part by the Miami-Dade County Office of Community and Economic Development and Safe Neighborhood Park Bonds.
On May 18, 2020, the Miami-Dade County Commission approved a resolution by Commissioner Kionne L. McGhee to rename Goulds Park as JL (Joe) and Enid W. Demps Park. Joe and Enid Demps are known in District 9 for their efforts, in partnership with the Greater Goulds Optimist Club.
Farm Share Food Distribution – 2nd Tuesday and Thursday of every month, 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
Farm Share distributes food to the South Dade Community in sponsorship with the United States Department of Justice and Miami–Dade County Police Department. Help Farm Share provide food free of charge, increasing the access to fresh food one neighborhood at a time.
First-Time Homebuyer Program – Third Saturday of every month, 8 a.m. till 5 p.m.
First-Time Homebuyer Program in partnership with Trinity Empowerment assist in obtaining financing as a first-time homebuyer and you qualify under CDBG, HOME, SHIP or Surtax income guidelines, residents may benefit thanks to the loan program between the Miami-Dade County Public Housing and Community Development and local home mortgage lenders.

Active Older Adults Program: Adults 55 and older are invited to enjoy our free Active Older Adults program at Goulds Park and other select Miami-Dade Parks. Activities vary from park to park and may include fitness classes, games, field trips and arts activities. Call the park office for the current activity schedule. Learn2Swim: Boys and girls are taught to swim by certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors. Various levels of courses are offered for children and adults, plus Parent & Tots (ages 2-5). Visit or call the pool for public swim hours. To register, call the pool directly.
Therapeutic Recreation & Inclusion (TRI): offers an after school care program funded by The Children's Trust for children with disabilities (grades 6 -12). During the after school session children have the opportunity to participate in a rotating schedule of activities that included physical fitness, literacy, art and music We also provide homework help.
