Summer Butterfly Walks at the Deering Estate at Cutler

(MIAMI, May 27, 2014) — The Deering Estate at Cutler is home to several rarely seen species of butterflies. Guided butterfly walks will be offered this summer on the following Saturdays: June 28, July 26 and August 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Guests will walk with a Deering Estate naturalist through various habitats in search of Dina Yellow, Dingy Purplewing, and Atala butterflies, as well as others of the nearly 40 species that are onsite!

The butterfly walks are free with regular Estate admission: $12 for adults and $7 for children (ages 4-14).

About the Deering Estate at Cutler

The Deering Estate at Cutler, a Miami-Dade County Park, is located at 16701 SW 72 Avenue in Miami. This 444-acre natural and archeological preserve and historic site is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and serves as a center for education, culture and recreation. Historic house tours are offered daily at 10:30 am & 3:00 pm. Natural areas tours are offered daily at 12:30 pm (October – May).
