The Miami-Dade Police Department Communications Bureau is proud to present the latest graduates of the esteemed Public Safety Telecommunicator (PST) Training Academy.
Five Police Complaint Officers and four Police Dispatchers are receiving their completion certificate for 16-weeks of intense academic learning. The class participants were educated on the following topics: Florida Department of Health PST Certification mandated curriculum, Emergency Medical Dispatch protocol, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation instructions, Miami-Dade County geography, and departmental policy. Police Complaint Officers receive a steady flow of 911 calls, which culminates to approximately 2.2 million calls per year. Police Dispatchers must be prepared to handle all communications received via the radio. Last year, the radio traffic totaled 51 million transmissions. In recognition of our fast-paced environment, the PST Academy prepares our newest Police Compliant Officers and Police Dispatchers to handle any emergency and assist the public with their safety needs.
Please join us as we congratulate the Public Safety Telecommunicator graduates.
