Active Shooter Training Exercise
The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) in collaboration with the Arsht Center will host a full-scale active shooter training exercise. This training is part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the community’s safety in the event of an active shooter occurrence. The mission’s goal is to insert tactical teams during a catastrophic emergency involving forcible felonious attack on multiple victims. The team of first responders will handle the exercise as a realistic workplace violence incident, with role players as the shooters. This exercise is comprised of several scenarios to include a hostage situations.
Media is welcome to attend. Reporting time is 2:15 p.m. - Parking for media vehicles will be at the parking lot located south of the venue's Ziff Ballet Opera House (Lot C).
