Detective Cesar Echaverry succumbed to his injuries after a brief battle for his life. Tomorrow morning, he will be moved to the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner's Department. As in all line of duty deaths, there are several protocols that must be met. Therefore, there are many moving parts to the rendering of honors. The media will have predetermined assigned areas to ensure full coverage. One location is located a NW 19 Street, on the median, in front of the Diagnostic Treatment Center. The other location will be in the 3rd floor of the parking garage located in front of the Medical Examiner's Department on NW 10 Avenue. A public information officer will be assigned to each location to ensure there is no movement for the safety of media personnel and to protect the privacy of the family.
Report time is 8:30 a.m. at the parking garage on NW 10 Avenue.
No interviews with anyone attending the procession will be authorized. Any media personnel violating these guidelines will be escorted off the property.
