On Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at 3:58 p.m., Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) South District uniform units and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel were dispatched to the Princeton Groves Apartments, located at 25151 SW 130 Avenue, regarding an unconscious male with abnormal breathing. Upon arrival, personnel located the victim, later identified as James Alston was lying in an apartment unresponsive.The victim was transported to Homestead Hospital, where he was airlifted to Jackson South Medical Center. On Friday, October 7, 2022, at 8:40 p.m. James Alston succumbed to his injuries. The victims' sister alongside MDPD Homicide Bureau detectives will be pleading for the assistance of the community to aid with this investigation.
