Juvenile Male Shot and Killed

The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau is investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a 15 year-old male.

According to investigators, guests were attending a house party and were gathered on the side of the residence. An unknown subject approached the residence on foot and discharged a firearm multiple times towards the guests, striking the victim in the lower extremity. The subject then ran to an awaiting vehicle and fled the area. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene and airlifted the victim to Kendall Regional Trauma Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. No other injuries were reported.

The investigation continues.

UPDATE #1: Investigators have identified and located Josue Cao for his involvement in the shooting. He was located at his residence, transported to the Homicide Bureau and subsequetly charged accordingly. A second individual is being questioned for his involvement in the incident, if any.

UPDATE #2: Investigators have identified the second subject as Matthew R. Hernandez for his involvement in the shooting and has been charged accordingly. He was transported to TGK.
