The Miami-Dade Police Department, Marine Patrol Unit, received a call in reference to a missing boater. According to investigators, a 30' Concept vessel docked at Matheson Hammocks Marina and realized that a passenger was missing. The driver of the vessel contacted security personnel who then contacted authorities. A multi-agency search team continue to search a three mile radius from Matheson Hammocks Marina. The Miami-Dade Police Department, Missing Persons Unit is interviewing the driver of the vessel and the other passenger. At the present time, this continues to be a "search and rescue" mission until the proper authorities determine it to be a "search and recovery".

Update #1: On today's date, May 26, 2015, at approximately 6:39 a.m., the United States Coast Guard, air unit, discovered what appeared to be a floating body in the bay area by Matheson Hammock Park & Marina. United States Coast Guard boat responded to the scene and confirmed that the floating body was in fact of a black female. The Miami-Dade Police Department, Homicide Bureau, is now conducting a death investigation of a black female. The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene, where the body was then transported to their office for an autopsy and provide a positive identification of the victim.
Update #2: The Miami Dade Police Department Homicide Bureau in conjunction with the State Attorney's Office, have issued an arrest warrant on the case of the missing boater who was found dead at Matheson Hammocks Marina. Russell Matthew Bruce, boat owner, and Alicia Bartolotta, passenger have both been arrested and formally charged with Manslaughter.
