Shooting Claims One Life, Injures Another |

The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), Homicide Bureau is investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a 20-year-old male and injured another. According to investigators, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) responded to 9-1-1 calls of a shooting on SR 826 northbound in the area of Okeechobee Road. Upon their arrival, they observed a red Nissan Altima, with multiple bullet holes, that had crashed into the wall at the Okeechobee Road northbound entrance ramp. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded, and the passenger was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver was airlifted to JMH Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition. There is no subject(s) information, however, a dark-colored vehicle was seen fleeing the area at a high rate of speed. The investigation continues.
