According to investigators, a 911 call was received in reference to a person shot.  Arriving officers discovered a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  The subject ran into his apartment and barricaded himself inside.  Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.  The Special Response Team (SRT) along with Hostage Negotiators were summoned to respond.  After several hours of unsuccessful attempts to establish a dialogue, a robot was sent to the apartment and the subject subsequently shot the robot and disabled it.  Soon thereafter, the subject exited the apartment and began to shoot at the SRT officers.  The SRT officers returned fire, fatally wounding the subject.  The officers were not injured.
