The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), Homeland Security Bureau, arrested an individual responsible for vandalizing a church.
According to investigators, uniformed officers from MDPD Kendall District responded to the church after several parishioners called to report graffiti on the church walls and trash throughout the church's courtyard. Detectives reviewed CCTV footage which depicted the subject walking through one of the church gates and spray painting the walls. She then proceeded towards the church's school courtyard, spray-painted various areas and kicked over the trash bins. In addition, she broke parts of the altar of a saint that is located in the front of the church.
Through investigative means, detectives were able to identify and locate the subject. She was arrested and charged accordingly.
"Places of worship are a staple of our community where many go to pray and practice their religious beliefs," said Director Alfredo Freddy Ramirez III. "I am very proud of the tenacity and hard work of our Homeland Security Bureau investigators to arrest the individual responsible for this pointless crime."
