Traffic advisory: Traffic signal at SW 122 Avenue and SW 8 Street will be out of service for electrical repairs on Saturday, February 28, 2015
(MIAMI, February 27, 2015) – The traffic signal controlling the intersection of SW 122 Avenue and SW 8 Street will be out of service on Saturday, February 28, 2015. The signal will be disabled in order for Public Works and Waste Management (PWWM) maintenance crews to make necessary repairs to the signal’s electrical wiring. The outage is expected to last approximately eight hours, beginning at 7 a.m.
While the signal is being repaired, there will be various lane closures and the intersection will function as a four-way stop. Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol will be present at the intersection to direct and control traffic. To avoid traffic delays associated with the signal outage, motorists are encouraged to travel on the following alternate roadways:
- SW 127 Avenue
- Homestead Extension of the Florida Turnpike
- SW 2 Street
- SW 6 Street
- Coral Way (SW 24 Street)
Motorists who must travel through the intersection during the outage are reminded to factor in additional travel time to reach their destination.
