Traffic advisory: Malfunction of the East Venetian Causeway Bascule Bridge affects traffic

(MIAMI, April 8, 2015) – Due to a bridge malfunction, the East Bascule Bridge of the Venetian Causeway (the drawbridge closest to Miami Beach) is closed to vehicular, pedestrian and marine traffic until further notice. Motorists in the area will experience delays. To avoid traffic delays associated with the East Bascule Bridge closure, motorists should use the Julia Tuttle Causeway to the north or the MacArthur Causeway to the south.

The Miami-Dade County Public Works and Waste Management Department is currently assessing the bridge to make the necessary repairs. Motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and mariners are kindly asked to be patient until the bridge is returned to service.
