Traffic advisory: Malfunction of the East Venetian Causeway Bascule Bridge affects traffic
(MIAMI, April 18, 2015) – Due to a bridge malfunction, the East Bascule Bridge of the Venetian Causeway (the drawbridge closest to Miami Beach) is closed to vehicular, cyclist and pedestrian traffic until further notice. The bridge is open to marine traffic only .
The Miami-Dade County Public Works and Waste Management Department is currently making the necessary repairs to the bridge. Motorists should use the MacArthur and Julia Tuttle Causeways as alternative routes while the bridge is temporarily closed for repairs.
