Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez seeks one-month extension for County residents to pay property taxes
Residents can conduct Tax Collector transactions online, including payment of property taxes, auto tag registration and local business taxes
As Miami-Dade County continues to deal with the disruptions caused by the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), I have requested that Gov. Ron DeSantis extend the deadline to pay 2019 Property Taxes by one month, from March 31 to April 30, 2020.
To safeguard Tax Collector customers and employees, I strongly encourage our taxpayers and customers to conduct any Tax Collector business transactions online, including paying Real Estate Property Taxes, Tangible Personal Property Taxes, Local Business Taxes and Auto Tag registrations "Renew Express" and "GoRenew”. Payments can also be sent by mail.
Go to miamidade.gov/taxcollector for details.
While the Tax Collector’s office remains open Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., please drop off payments at the door, rather than entering the lobby. The Tax Collector’s office is admitting only 20 people at a time to ensure social distancing of six feet between individuals, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Also note that many State-operated Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles offices in Miami-Dade County have been closed starting March 19.
If you need to go to a privately owned and operated Auto Tag Agency in Miami-Dade County, please call that office first to ensure they are open.
I encourage everyone to practice social distancing if you must enter offices. Continue to follow the CDC hygiene guidelines of handwashing and not shaking hands to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
