Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department Customer Service updates

While under the COVID-19 State of Emergency, the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) continues to provide near normal service levels, while taking precautions to protect the health of our customers and workers.

By direction of Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez, the department has suspended disconnections of water service due to non-payment. Staff has also reconnected those who were cut prior to the State of Emergency declaration to ensure all customers have reliable access to safe drinking water.

To encourage social distancing, WASD suggests for customers to conduct their department-related business online at miamidade.gov/water or by phone at 305-665-7477 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Either way you will be able to remotely complete such WASD tasks as registering an account, viewing billing details, and making payments.

Two Customer Service Centers/payment centers have been closed to the public – the Douglas Road and Opa Locka locations. The Customer Service Centers that serve the north (Caleb Center), central (LeJeune Road) and south (South Dade Government Center) areas of the County remain operational on their normal schedule of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. These offices have glass partitions between staff and customers, which assist in social distancing.

In person-meter reading is still occurring, so accurate consumption-based bills are being generated. We are asking the public to provide access to their meters if they are not located within the public right-of-way so estimated bills can be avoided.

New account turn-ons are still being performed, as are high bill investigations to check meter registration.
