Miami-Dade County Animal Services Department hosts second Drive-Thru Pet Food Bank to help owners provide for their pets
To help provide relief for Miami-Dade County’s pet owners during the COVID-19 crisis, Miami-Dade Animal Services (Animal Services Department) is hosting a second Drive-Thru Pet Food Bank on Thursday, April 30, 2020, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. (or while supplies last), at the Pet Adoption and Protection Center in Doral, located at 3599 NW 79th Avenue, Doral, FL 33122. The pet food distribution event is made possible in part by the generous pet food donation from The ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) as part of the national ASPCA COVID-19 Relief & Recovery Initiative, and the support of the Miami-Dade Police Department and the City of Doral Police Department.
“We understand the financial strain this crisis is causing, and we want to assist community pet owners by providing food for their furry family members,” said Animal Services Department Director Alex Muñoz. “It is a small token of appreciation for the support the community has given to the Animal Services Department so that it can fulfill its mission.”
To help ensure adherence to social distancing rules and for the safety and protection of event participants and staff, the pet food distribution event is Drive-Thru ONLY and exclusively for Miami-Dade County pet owners. Walk-ups will not be accepted at the event. Residents must wear masks or face coverings at all times during this event.
