Miami-Dade County to Open Limited Number of COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments
Today, Miami-Dade County will release a limited number of COVID-19 vaccine appointments available to seniors age 65 and older, according to state vaccine guidelines. The appointments will be available through a scheduling tool at miamidade.gov/vaccine.
Miami-Dade County is working in partnership with Baptist Health South Florida and the Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade to make additional vaccination sites available through the County’s scheduling tool. All vaccination sites are by appointment only and walk-ups will not be accepted.
“My priority is to get shots in arms as fast possible, and we are working closely with all our partners to make additional vaccination sites available as we receive new supplies. We are proud to partner with Baptist Health South Florida and the Department of Health in Miami-Dade to expand vaccine availability, and to provide a central, one-stop tool – miamidade.gov/vaccine – for residents to schedule appointments at vaccination locations as they become available.”
Demand for vaccines is currently much greater than existing supply, and Miami-Dade County along with its partners is working hard to make vaccines available to the community as fast as new supplies are received.
Miami-Dade Public Libraries provide internet and computer access for any members of the community not able to access the website from home.
Miami-Dade will be opening a limited number of COVID-19 vaccine appointments for seniors 65+ starting Friday, January 8 at 4 p.m. at miamidade.gov/vaccine. The website is also available in Spanish at miamidade.gov/vacuna and in Haitian Creole at miamidade.gov/vaksen.
