Miami-Dade Mayor Levine Cava Urges Governor DeSantis to Send More Vaccines
Today, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava sent a letter to Governor DeSantis about the urgent need for more vaccines to Miami-Dade.
"Miami-Dade County remains the epicenter of Florida’s epidemic, with even greater risk now presented by at least one new, more virulent strain of COVID-19 rapidly spreading across our state," wrote Mayor Levine Cava. "Yet we lack the vaccines to ensure we can vaccinate seniors 65+ at the same pace as other Florida counties. The fact remains that Miami-Dade County is home to the greatest number of positive cases, and we know community spread continues. As the epicenter of the pandemic in Florida, I trust the allotments made directly to Miami-Dade County will increase so we can vaccinate a greater share of seniors 65+."
